So, we left Northern Ireland and flew into Heathrow Airport and caught a bus to Bristol, where Andrew and Pearl live. We were pretty tired because the day turned out to be a bit longer than we expected. So we went straight to bed that night. We got up early the next morning and Andrew took us on a quick tour of Bristol (it was foggy that morning, so there wasn't a lot to see, but I did get a picture of the suspension bridge which was very cool). Then we got in the car and drove down to Brixham, a little coastal village where they have a house. We stopped along the way at Whitecome-on-the-moor, a huge rock formation in the middle of seemingly nowhere on the moor. We, of course, had to climb it! We drove through tiny little villages with beautiful churches, down roads that can hardly be called roads, they were so narrow, with tall hedges on both sides! We stopped at a spot where one creek met with another to form the River Dart. We spent the night in Brixham and had fish and chips. The next morning was Sunday, and we were off again, driving further down the coast to to Dartmouth (at the mouth of the River Dart... duh.). There's a lot of history in this city. It is the home of the Royal Naval Academy, as well as the port where the Godspeed (the ship which left Plymouth with the Mayflower) had to turn in because of problems with the ship. We attended a tiny little Anglican church, where we stuck out as visitors, as our party of 4 seemed to nearly double the congregation. :-) After the service, we went to a splendid brunch and then on to a tiny quaint town on the south coast called Salcombe, which as been quoted as "the most beautiful place on earth." It was a whirlwind weekend, but we got to see an incredible amount of the country that I probably wouldn't ever see otherwise. Okay, time for some pictures!
